Cyprus, Hungary & Italy Update!
Dear Friends,
Travel can be grueling, but it is so worth it when we see people receive hope and encouragement through the ministry we bring. For several weeks while we did missions work in Italy, Mombo experienced times of crippling headaches. Because many of you prayed, she had a breakthrough and we are grateful.
This map shows our recent ministry locations. For the first time in our lives, we were able to serve in the Middle East on the island of Cyprus. Did you know that Cyprus is half Greek, half Turkish and only 154 miles from the border of Syria?
While in Cyprus, we were able to minister to refugees from Cameroon, Africa. Since Juan had just been there the previous year, it was wonderful to meet some new friends from there. We were able to coach and encourage them as they pursue steady employment and fight to stabilize their lives.
We were excited to be invited to speak in Hungary at the YWAM Central European Conference where we had missionaries from 16 nations assembled! (That’s us where the arrow is pointing)
We taught several workshops to the YWAM missionaries. One leader said, “I am still shocked that I believed lies for so many years regarding women’s role in ministry leadership. Juan and Mombo truly helped me to understand the biblical texts on this subject. Thank you, Juan and Mombo for opening my eyes!”
Next, we traveled to train the pioneer team at YWAM Pisa in Italy. The base leaders said, “They served our staff all week with teachings on biblical conflict resolution, growing empathy for one another, recognizing our own patterns of behavior by looking back at significant positive and negative life moments, and building healthy relationships within our community in order to prevent burnout. Thank you for care, training and friendship!”
Our son Connor was in Italy for his study abroad program, which is part of his masters degree in architecture. Afterwards finishing that program, he joined us to do missions work for his summer break. Connor taught with us on conflict resolution and shared lessons he has learned as a resident assistant at university. He is a natural!
We continued ministry in Italy by visiting YWAM Trentino where we celebrated their 5 year anniversary. This team overcame many challenges to establish this thriving missions campus. We were able to give one-on-one mentoring to young missionaries there and participate in street evangelism in the local community.
PLEASE PRAY NOW
- Our ministry coming up with Ukrainian refugees in Romania, that we may uplift the families who have been displaced.
- Our son Connor who will be traveling with us and building homes for the gypsy people (Roma) in Romania.
- Endurance and anointing as we travel to minister soon in Romania, England, Finland, Norway, Spain, and Scotland.
BEYOND GRATEFUL
Because of your prayer and financial partnership we are seeing many lives touched. We are answering God’s call to disciple the nations and are thankful we get to represent you as we serve together!
