This March, I was invited to Cameroon, Africa to train pastors and leaders with Youth With A Mission. Cameroon is a poor country with many challenges, but I saw God at work in the beautiful people there during my three weeks of ministry. It was so amazing–even in 95 degree heat! When I first arrived, I was asked to preach at a new church in Douala, the first of three cities I visited. Pastor Godwin was an amazing translator! It was an honor to speak at this church and see people set free as I laid hands on them and prayed. Afterwards, some testified of how the message came at exactly the right time for them.I took a 5-hour bus ride to meet my team in the city of Kribi. 8 missionary men and all their stuff in one room? No problem! The other guys on our team hooked me up with a mosquito net so I felt right at home. This team had YWAM students from many countries who were serving on a three month outreach, doing local evangelism and partnering with local churches. Our team put on a leadership training conference for several days and it was a huge success. Hundreds of people came to encounter God. After one of my training sessions, a young woman named Larissa said she had never learned so much in such a short period of time. My translator Maxim said he could feel the Holy Spirit moving through him as he translated the teaching!I have never seen people with the kind of fire and passion like the people of Cameroon! This photo shows the whole crowd holding their chairs in the air and dancing with joy as they worshiped. This was one of those great learning moments for me as I was shown how to truly praise God with all my heart, mind and body. When I preached at a local church in Kribi, I was blown away as many came forward for prayer and received God’s power to heal their broken relationships. My favorite part was when this young man named Eric gave his life to Christ that morning. You can see the smile on his face after he made this decision to follow Jesus. Our team also put on a leadership conference in the capital city of Yaounde that exceeded all expectations. It was a full house as we spoke to 100 church leaders during the day and 100 business leaders each night. Everyone eagerly received the teaching from each speaker. We even broadcast the conference online for other people around Cameroon to enjoy.I could feel the Holy Spirit reshaping the future of the country of Cameroon as we met with these leaders. We laughed, sang and danced as the Lord brought us together as one. This was a prophetic event that birthed great vision in the hearts of the people not just for their churches but for their businesses and spheres of influence as well. I was so inspired by these believers who are taking action to bring new hope to their country.I was honored to go with our YWAM leader Jackson Ndecheck to meet with the Prefect, who is a high government official appointed by the president over this region. Jackson gave a presentation on establishing a new campus for University of the Nations to train up young leaders. Although the man we met with was Muslim, he gave his enthusiastic approval for the new work! God is giving great favor and is opening doors to bring revival to this nation.THANK YOU! On behalf of Mombo and I and the people of Cameroon, we thank you for partnering with us so that we might bring the light of the gospel to the nations. This was a powerful trip and so many lives were touched because you gave. We appreciate you and are proud to partner together!
