MERRY CHRISTMAS! We are writing to update you on our crazy missionary life over the past two years. What a wild ride it has been! We want to stay connected with friends and family no matter where we are in the world.
OUR NEW SEASON OF LIFE
After 18 years of serving the poor and homeless in New York City, we have now become global missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), the largest multi-denominational missions movement in the world. Our goal is to multiply ourselves by training up the next generation of young missionaries to be healthy leaders as we all bring the love of Jesus to the nations.
Here’s an overview of what we have been up to...
WE HAVE BEEN LIVING OUT OF 3 SUITCASES FOR 23 MONTHS–REALLY!
- Arrived in Pacific Islands December 2020
- We have now lived in 31 locations in 9 countries
- 2 more weeks before we move again to live on the road for 10 more months working in 10 countries in 2023
FUN YWAM FACTS
- Two-thirds of YWAM missionaries are from developing nations, not just the Western World.
- 60,000 young people are sent out on two-month mission trips every year. Over 20,000 YWAMers are full-time missionaries.
- Since 1960, over 1 million people have served with Youth With A Mission.

CAMEROON, AFRICA – (French Speaking)
I (Juan) learned more than I taught as I traveled in over 100 degree heat to multiple cities to train pastors and business leaders speaking at Leadership Conferences. These men and women of God who were serving Jesus in their personal context are very inspiring. They were so gracious to me and grateful that our team would come so far to serve and train them.
We traveled throughout 8 European countries to train missionaries at 15 different YWAM campuses. It was such an honor to teach these young missionaries from around the world who travel to many nations bringing the gospel to the needy, many of whom were sheltering Ukrainian refugees. Our “know how” with leading homeless ministry came full circle with training some campuses how to best serve refugees experiencing homelessness in the midst of the war crisis.
YWAM PACIFIC ISLANDS
Part of the year we serve at the largest YWAM campus on earth, located in the Pacific Islands. We share a little apartment with lizards and roaches, but keep our joy on as this quarter alone we worked with 972 students and 400 missionary staff. Since we have been here, we have trained over 900 people in healthy leadership so they can be sustainable on the field for the long term. Soon we are headed to minister in more remote Pacific Islands (another 10-hour flight away) for the next few months. Please be praying for us!
PARTNER WITH US FOR 2023!
We know that many people do their charitable giving at the end of the year. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift towards our missionary work. 100% of YWAM missionaries raise their own finances through missionary partners like you who believe in us and send us out to do the work of the ministry.
Just like Jesus and the disciples had financial partners who made it possible for them to minister, we will go out to do the work, but need to be sent by those who will pray for us and assist in funding the ministry. We can’t do this without help and would love to have you join our team of amazing partners in our mission to reach the world for Jesus!

Would you pray right now to see if this is something God would have you to do?
Wishing you and your family very Merry Christmas!
