Germany, Spain & Romania Update!
Dear Friends,
We ministered in drastically different cultures when we trained missionaries in Germany and Spain, then served Ukrainian refugees in Romania. In each place God had something special in store for us and those who we poured into.
Hurlach Castle in Germany is a historic Youth With A Mission campus that has been in operation since 1972, but the castle itself was built in 1595! That’s older than the USA! While on summer break from college, our son Connor traveled with us to minister as a family. At this campus, he helped maintain this historic base and cook for this large missionary team.
One of YWAM’s values is being international and that means being multicultural. This base in Germany has missionaries from India, Africa, South America, Albania and Singapore! We got to train the missionaries on harnessing that diversity to reach the nations with the gospel and met with the leadership team to help plan for the future and for the next season of fruitful ministry.

This was our opportunity to minister in Spain at YWAM Bilbao. With the help of one of the directors, who is Swedish, all of our teaching was translated into Spanish. This team of missionaries is from Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil and Sweden.
This ministry campus in Bilbao, Spain operates an evening Discipleship Training School where many Spaniards come to understand God’s plan for their lives. After training their team, the director said, “All of the staff were very impacted when they realized the lies they had believed and how Jesus actually modeled a missionary lifestyle. Juan and Mombo’s kindness, love and passion for Jesus is contagious and inspiring. They really live out the leadership they teach about.”

It was an honor to work with YWAM in Cluj, Romania. In this photo, Mombo is training local Romanian women on how to effectively reach other ladies in their community using the popular IF:Gathering small group method. She also trained young adults in innovative performance ministry art that can be used on the streets.
The campus director said, “When Juan and Mombo came into our base, they imparted their hearts in a big and generous way. They jumped in to help with whatever was needed, including cooking and cleaning for Ukrainian refugees. They prayed over us and with us. Our staff loved the 1-on-1 mentoring sessions, they had with them. Creativity just pours out of them. They are so much fun and Spirit-filled at the same time.”
While we were in Cluj, our son Connor (4th from left) was two hours away in a Roma community filled with shacks. He worked with Homes Of Hope to build a brand new house for an older mother and her child (standing in front of the door.) The son helped with the project which gave dignity and taught him new skills. We are SO proud of our son and this team.
This base provides hot meals every day for Ukrainian refugee families. We were blessed to help cook huge meals to feed 90 people with our new Ukrainian friends.
Because of a disability, this young Ukrainian man was allowed to come to Romania as a refugee. This YWAM base is located just 2 hours from the Ukraine border. Many of his friends have died as soldiers during the war. He committed his life to Jesus when he attended a Discipleship Training School at YWAM and is now working there serving other Ukrainian refugees. He was a BIG help translating for us as we got to know other Ukrainians. Please pray for him as he is looking into moving to America.
We were so moved as these Ukrainian mamas, grandmas and papa shared stories of fleeing for their lives from the war. We prayed together with them for peace and freedom. Some of the ladies make and sell crafts to provide for their families. Mombo was able to pay 7 times what they asked for their crafts because of your generous support to help bless them. They cried with gratitude. She also taught them how to sell on Etsy to help feed their families and they were so grateful. As we left we were able to give a financial gift from our ministry partners to help 30 refugee families with groceries for a month. Thank you for making that possible!

PLEASE PRAY NOW
- Pray for the Ukrainian refugees that God would supply a source of income and provide safety and victory for their husbands back home fighting for their lives and their country.
- Pray that the new online training resources we are creating will reach and help missionaries all over the world who need encouragement.
- Health for our new granddaughter due at Christmas and strength for our pregnant daughter to safely carry her to full-term.
BEYOND GRATEFUL
Because of your prayer and financial partnership we are seeing many lives touched. We are answering God’s call to disciple the nations and are thankful we get to represent you as we serve together!
